Two Friends

Picture
I discovered the DJ/Producing duo of Two Friends through a friend on my Cross Country team. After every practice we would jam out to their hour long pop mixes. Two Friends has been my biggest influence throughout my music technology career, because they are what got me into producing music in the first place. The flow of their mixes is like no other and that is something I try to replicate when making music.

Roddy Ricch

Lately, Roddy Ricch has been one of my favorite rappers out there. I always liked his music and thought he was a talented vocalist, but after hearing his latest album called, "Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial" my respect for him as an artist doubled. Almost every single song on his latest album is a must listen, which is why it was my favorite hip hop album of 2019.

The Beatles

Picture
It was not until recently that I started listening to the Beatles, but when I did I was shocked at how many great songs they have. Before, I knew all their biggest hits and would hear them on the radio occasionally, but I never went out of my way to listen to a Beatles song.  There is something so special about the Beatles that can't be described with words. Whenever I listen to the Beatles I am moved by the extraordinary artistry of their music.

Les Paul

Up until we learned about Les Paul in class, I had no idea about how influential he was to the history of music. Many of the most famous musical inventions of the 20th century, such as the Electric Guitar and Double Track recording belong to Les Paul's name. If it weren't for Les Paul, chances are Music Technology class wouldn't exist.

Tupac Shakur

Tupac is a big influence on me, not only for his music, but also for the fact that he stood up for he believed in. In the 1990s Tupac was viewed as a leader for young minorities across America and he was able to project his beliefs through his music. Many of his songs depict issues that he and many others at the time had to face, which is why so many people were able to connect to this music. To this day Tupac is considered one of the greatest rappers of all time, if not the greatest.
